The Tower in Strongford unlocks at Team Level 15 and consists of 50 floors of different types, it resets each personal Game Day.

Before team level 130, players are rewarded with the choice to skip some battles. The number of battles won yesterday is the range of the number of floors that the player is allowed to skip, whether or not there is a battle on that floor. If players did not skip and/or win all 26 battles yesterday, then he can attack or use emeralds to skip the remaining battles, until floor 26.

At team level 130, players are allowed to use emeralds to skip all battles at once.

Floors[]

There are three types of interactions you will encounter on each floor in the tower:

Tower Battles[]

Tower Battle

The Heroes and Pets need to be at least level 15 to join a battle, which can be fought in manual mode. The Energy of Heroes will keep between battles but won't regenerate any health. Dead Heroes stay dead but can be resurrected with one Buff (Resurrection) for Skull Coins.

The strength of the tower enemies depends on the average power of all heroes that the player has summoned, and the enemies' experience levels have an upper limit that fluctuates around the player's team level. A player does *not* need to have their main team as strong as possible. Therefore, it is wise for a player to have 37 or more heroes summoned, and to keep the unused summoned heroes as weak as possible.

The tower gets more difficult the higher you go. Each victory grants Skull Coins and Tower Points. The amount depends on how many stars you received for the battle, similar to Campaign Missions (max 3 stars, minus 1 for each dead hero, min 1 star):

  • Tower Points received = Tower Points (depends on the floor) * Stars
  • Skull Coins received = 5 * Stars

Tower Points can be used to receive rewards, Skull Coins to activate Buffs, or exchange them at the top floor for Gold.

Skull Coins[]

Skull Coins are gained after you complete a Tower Battle.

Tower Chests[]

Blue Tower Chests are available from levels 4 to 20
Purple Tower Chests are available from levels 22 to 46
The Final Tower Chest is on level 50

The tower will offer three Tower Chests that players can open.

Cost[]

The first chest can be opened for free. The second and third chests will cost Emeralds to open them. The third chest can only be opened by players that have purchased VIP 4.

It costs 2,300Emeralds to unlock all chests in the Tower in a single day.

Chest Rewards[]

Each Tower chest will have one of three rewards:

The amount of chests you open may contribute to tasks for Special Events.

Gold[]

The amount of Gold you receive will increase as you increase Team Level and VIP status.

  • Players with a Team level 80+ = 50% bonus (1.5x the base level)
  • Players with a VIP status of 6+ = 25% bonus (1.25x the base level

Tower Coins[]

The amount of Tower Coins you gain depends on the chest type. the chest can crit, doubling the amount.

Items and Item Fragments[]

The amount of Item Fragments offered depends on the chest type and the equipment type on the Team Level:

  • Team Level 15: green equipment, and blue equipment fragments
  • Team Level 16-30: green equipment, blue equipment fragments, and violet equipment fragments
  • Team Level 31-49?: green equipment, blue equipment fragments, and violet equipment fragments
  • Team Level 50+: violet equipment fragments
  • Team Level 80+: violet and orange equipment fragments
  • Team Level 120+: orange and red equipment fragments
  • The Emeralds cost depends on the chest type

Altars[]

Each Altar will offer a selection of three buffs for you to purchase using Skull Coins. Unlike Chests (which must be opened for you to proceed), you do not have to purchase any buffs from the Altar. Your Skull Coins will be added to your total to use on the next Altar you encounter.

Buffs[]

Each Buff you purchase will last for a single day. The Buff applies to all Heroes that battle inside the Tower. It does not apply to battles outside the Tower.

Cost[]

Altars will offer three Buffs, each with a different Cost. The stronger the Buff, the more Skull Coins it will cost.

The first Altar you encounter will be on Level 2.

buffs on the 2nd floor always cost only 1 Skull Coin, all other buffs on higher floors cost 6, 16, and 40 (or occasionally 20) Skulls Coins.

The Altars on Levels 2 to 18 will cost either 3, 12, or 20 Skull Coins. The Altars on Levels 34 to 48 will cost either 6, 16, or 40 Skull Coins.

Instant Clear[]

Instant Clear allows players to skip all battles of the Tower leaving the option of opening the Tower chests one by one or all at once. Instant Clear becomes available at a specific Team Level depending on the platform:

  • Mobile - Team Level 90, players need also to complete the Tower every day for 7 days to collect Tower Crowns to activate Instant Clear
  • Browser - Team Level 130

Instant Clear becomes available the next day after the requirements are met.

Some things to consider on the instant clear for the tower: Only certain levels on the "instant clear" choose chests are going to have chests to open. This will factor in during quests. Also note that lower costing chests (50 emeralds) will net half the value of prizes of 100 emerald chests. Maximum items at 100 emeralds will be 6 or 7 of each orange or red item. This is WELL WORTH IT compared to the corresponding emeralds you would have to spend in energy to farm the exact same item.

I also have a pattern which I follow doing the 'choose' chests part of the Tower. I float to the right and ALWAYS choose the 3rd chest. More than half of the time this is the item. If it's the tower coins, and you are after items only, click the chest to the left of the tower coin. More than half the time this will be the item. IF the far right chest is gold, click the farthest left chest (two chests to the left of the far right) and more than half the time, this will be the item fragment.

Level 42 tower far right chest

Level 42 of the tower, always open the far right chests in the tower if you want item fragments. best chance of 1 hitting the fragment.

In the 'choose chests' mode (instant clear gets expensive at 2300 emeralds per day), there are 15 levels of chests. If you choose only the free chests every day, that is 15 chests. If you are going for quests, these are the levels at which chests are 50 emeralds each after the free one:

4

8

10

14

16

20

22

^in theory opening all free & 50 emerald chests will net you 21 chests opened for quests, plus the 8 free ones along the way at levels:

26

28

32

35

39

42

46

50

NOTE: if you have a 3 day quest needing 120 chests, you could pay 2300 for the first 2 days and get 45 chests per day. That leaves 30 chests for the 3rd day. opening all 50 emerald chests plus the free ones on the 3rd day, will net you 119. That last chest at the top of the tower is yours to pick; but you might as well get that 120th chest at the TOP of the tower where there is a better chance of critical hit the 500 tower coins :)

Valkyrie's Quest (Mobile)[]

When a player reaches Team Level 90, the Valkyrie will appear to them on Level 1 of the Tower, telling them about a new Quest that will be available to them on Level 50.

Valkyrie appearing on Level 1 of the Tower

To complete the Valkyrie's Quest, players need to reach Tower Level 50 seven times.

How Tower Difficulty & Rewards are Determined (with direct answers from Support)[]

Each day, the tower is different. The enemy teams makeup will be a copy of a team that was previously used in Arena defense (even from an older server at some point in the past), but then scaled to be appropriate to your current team level

Team compilations in the tower are just copies of teams that were used on the Arena some time ago. Parameters of defending heroes scale of your team level (not the level of your heroes) and the floor number (the higher the floor - the stronger the defenders).
It is just a "copy" of a setup. Levels/skills/skins/rank and all other upgrades are set depending on your team level.
    — Nexters Support 12 June 2021

Given the seeming randomness of Tower matchups, it is difficult to tell the exact moment defending teams are derived. There has been testing done for final skull rewards, and it has been found that for these skulls it will use your team level (multiple of 5 rounded down) as long as you level before looking at the skull reward.

Example: a player enters the Tower at Team Level 94, the player clears floor 49 with all 390 skulls at Team Level 94, claims the floor 50 chest, and then increases their Team Level to 95 before accessing the skull exchange. The Skull Exchange will give this player 66,000 gold.

When Support was asked about level multipliers, and lower Team level rewards:

The development team did not share any details on how exactly rewards in the Tower work. Rewards in Chests are determined randomly and depend on the level of the player at the beginning of the day.
All of the other rates and nuances can only be determined by players, themselves as a part of the social interaction in the game.

Tips[]

  • If it looks like you're going to lose a battle or a good hero, you can click on "pause" and "retreat" and try again (using different strategy, timing, and/or heroes). Besides the Dungeon, the Tower is the only location with this option.
