The Mysterious Island is a game mode for all players with Team Level 30 or higher. The mode runs alongside (multiple) Seasonal Events and gives players the opportunity to explore a secret map using Explorer's Moves to uncover location after location and get all kinds of valuable resources in various amounts and the newly introduced War Flags and Patterns. Explorer's Moves are made available during the Seasonal Events as well as some Special Events. In addition, players could buy various subscriptions rewarding them with 2 Explorer's Moves per day for several weeks and some extra resources for purchasing the subscription.

The first Mysterious Island was introduced alongside Pet Season on 7 October 2023 and ran until the end of Champions Season on 30 November 2023 for the duration of 2 Seasonal Events. Subsequent events usually run for the duration of 3 Seasonal Events.

Gameplay and Locations[]

Islands[]

A single Mysterious Island event can contain multiple islands that are usually added over time, or an existing island gets extended. A newly added island or structure of islands has a distinct Entry Portal that is unlocked for all players on a certain day, usually 2-3 days after it was added to the map. A new Mysterious Island season always starts with a brand new map and island(s). The second such Mysterious Island event was called Winter Island.

Some islands are "branded" or named for certain occasions, e.g. during Summer Festival and Spooky Festival with event-based items to be found; e.g. Summer Festival Coins and Spooky Festival Coins, respectively.

Tiles (in general)[]

All tiles (or fields) of an island have the shape of a hexagon hence they are six-sided and border to a maximum of six other tiles. By default, all tiles of newly added islands are invisible and inaccessible. The only visible tiles are all (surrounding) Sea Tiles, the Entry Portal Tile, as well as all Tower Tiles, Wood Tiles, and semi-visible Bridge Tiles (if there are any bridges). The only accessible tiles when a new part of the map is unlocked are the Entry Portal and its 6 adjacent tiles unless they are Rock or Sea Tiles. All Resource Tiles remain invisible until they are uncovered by using 1 Explorer's Move. Some Resource Tiles that contain Explorer's Moves are instantly visible and usually do not require to spend an Explorer's Move in the first place.

Players do not have to move in linear progression but can go back and forth. Already uncovered tiles and paths do not require Explorer's Moves again.

Entry Portal Tile[]

This is the starting point for a new map unlocking one or several new islands. This field is always visible and does not require an Explorer's Move. Players do not need to uncover all Tiles of an already existing part of the map and its island to access another Entry Portal on a newly added part of the map and its brand new island/s. However, some new islands can only be accessed by Bridges; see below.

The first field adjacent to the Entry Portal usually does not require to spend a (one) Explorer's Move, instead it grants three (3) additional Explorer's Moves and 500 Emeralds.

Bridge and Wood Tiles[]

Some islands are interconnected by Bridges of various lengths. One Bridge Tile usually requires one piece of Wood that is found on a Wood Tile on the already accessible parts of the map and islands. All Wood Tiles are visible and require an Explorer's Move. There is no additional resource, however, by using a piece of Wood to construct a part of a bridge players are granted 500 Emeralds thus encouraging players to collect Wood and build bridges. Bridge Tiles are semi-visible, becoming fully visible upon construction.

As of November 2024, Wood Tiles also contain an Epic Chest (the red ones) and using it for constructing a part of a bridge still grants the player 500 Emeralds.

Resource Tile[]

Common Resource Tiles are invisible until they are uncovered by using one Explorer's Move. Regardless of the type and amount of resources it usually always requires exactly one (1) Explorer's Move (the exception being Wood Tiles and Tiles that contain additional Explorer's Moves). While Resource Tiles can grant all kinds and amounts of resources and some Resource Tiles may be better than others, they always grant the same type and amounts for all players, the only difference being the amount of Explorer's Moves collected and owned by the players.

Chest Tile[]

The Chest Tile is a special Resource Tile that usually contains two different types of grey War Flag Patterns in the amounts of 2 (of one type) and 1 (or another type).

Tower Tiles[]

Tower Tiles are a special Resource Tile that is always visible and grant players much better resources in terms of type and amounts, such as high amounts of "Blue Balls" (Titan Artifact Spheres) or Emeralds or War Flag Chests and additional Patterns.

Rock and Sea Tiles[]

Rock and Sea Tiles are the only two types of tiles that cannot be accessed whatsoever meaning all kinds of Sea Tiles are the natural border of all islands with some Sea Tiles also being used for lakes (or seas) on an island while all Rock Island are additional "in-land" borders blocking players from going a certain way, preventing shortcuts. Sea Tiles, whether on or off an island, are always visible while all Rock Tiles remain invisible until they become adjacent to an uncovered Resource Tile. On earlier maps and islands (some) Rock Tiles were also visible right away.

Items[]

Explorer's Move[]

You can use Explorer's Moves to travel around the Mysterious Island.

Usually one (1) Explorer's Move is needed to unlock/uncover one (1) adjacent tile that has not been unlocked.

Wood[]

Required for construction on the Mysterious Island.

In detail, wood is needed to construct bridges that connect to other islands. Usually the amount of wood needed can be found on the already accessible island/s. For each construction tile players are give 500 Emeralds while the tile on which the wood is found does not grant any extra resource. All tiles that contain wood are visible right from the start.

History[]

On 7 November 2023, the second (north/northwestern) part of the map was unlocked alongside the introduction of War Flags & Patterns.
