Asgard is a game mode in the Browser version of Hero Wars. It is unlocked after reaching Team Level 65 and can be accessed from the Celestial City. This mode includes several new locations for gaining resources to increase the Ascension level of Heroes and Roles:
- Ascension Spire - Allows to unlock Ascension Symbols to increase the Heroes' Stats and unlock Ascension Skills.
- Astral Seer - Trades in Astral Providence or Emeralds for additional Insignias and Crystals.
- Great Tree of Wisdom - Allows to unlock Ascension Branches to increase attributes of all Heroes with specific Roles.
- Guild Raid - Battle minions and bosses to earn Ascension Resources.
- Hall of Fame - Displays the best players and Guilds from the Guild Raid.
Ascension Spire[]
As addtional reward Ancient Wisdom Crystal are granted for each unlocked symbol, these can be used to level up the role branches in the Great Tree of Wisdom. Every five levels you will also need Eternal Seeds to level up the branch. You will only need 1 seed to get to level 5 but the amount needed will increase by 5 every 5 levels. Cost and Stats bonus for each hero is displayed on the Heroes' pages and for the roles on the Great Tree of Wisdom page.

The Astral Seer gifts Insignias, Crystals, and Eternal Seeds to the players. It is part of the Asgard mode of the game. Each day one free Astral Providence, up to seven, is granted to the player. The Seer also grants gift for Emeralds:
- 1 Providence for 350 Emeralds (if all free providence are used up)
- 10 Providences for 3,000 Emeralds
- 100 Providences for 30,000 Emeralds (unlocks after spending 30,000 Emeralds for the Seer)

Guild Raid[]
In the Guild Raid, all guild members participate in one mode to beat the boss. During the first phase from Monday to Thursday, each player can collect Valor Emblems (to buy buffs) and Guild Morale (to boost damage in boss fights). On the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, all guild members fight a boss with a shared health bar.

In the Hall of Fame, the top players and Guilds from all servers can be seen. The ranking is based on the amount of damage dealt to the boss and is split into:
- Top Players (previous week and current week)
- Top Guilds (previous week and current week)
- All-time Top
Besides that, the weekly rewards are given out at the end of the week, similar to the Hall of Fame in the Titan Valley for the Tournament of the Elements. The only requirement to earn the rewards is that the given player needs to attack the boss at least once before the end of the week.

Insignia[]
Insignia are used to ascend your Heroes based on their primary role:
- Control
- Willpower Insignia - Up against your own, K'shai Celgro? Think you're a god now?
- Greater Willpower Insignia - Through desire to control the lives of others, you lose control over your own fate.
- Healer
- Love Insignia - Jhana Samun, not the Mad, but the Great!
- Greater Love Insignia - The path of the healer is one full of pitfalls and daily discoveries!
- Mage
- Wisdom Insignia - Spin the web of the world, Xenxezi. Spin and smile!
- Greater Wisdom Insignia - Magic is everywhere. You just need to grab it by the tail!
- Marksman
- Composure Insignia - Fly and outrun time itself, White Flame of Ringrin!
- Greater Composure Insignia - Death is the loss of focus. While there is a goal, you're alive. You know what to do.
- Support
- Kindness Insignia - You're the only one who never left me, Octaviana, unafraid of the Dark.
- Greater Kindness Insignia - When everything is lost, there's nothing left but honor. And yet with no one to support you, honor won't help you much.
- Tank
- Resilience Insignia - You're no longer a slave, Enzo Sondi. Go forth, and never back down!
- Greater Resilience Insignia - Fight to the bitter end, and you shall greet many a dawn in your long life.
- Warrior
- Valor Insignia - It was all for naught, Bran. Or has it only just begun?
- Greater Valor Insignia - There's no such thing as a poor weapon. The only cause of its performance is you.
Types of Insignia[]
There are 2 types of Insignia:
- (Normal) Insignia - Needed from level 3 onwards until the 2nd node of level 4.
- Greater Insignia - Needed for the remaining nodes of levels 4 to 5.
Crystal[]
Crystals are used to ascend your Heroes based on their main stat:
- Agility
- Agility Crystal - Life! All around me! All is comprised of life!
- Vibrant Agility Crystal - Jump! Dive! Throw! Repeat! To win, you must go forth!
- Radiant Agility Crystal - You're full of life, Verro. You share it to be reborn.
- Intelligence
- Intelligence Crystal - And as the skies uncover their secrets, they spill their tears down onto the ground...
- Vibrant Intelligence Crystal - No longer wishing to lament your woes, you are ready to proceed, to fight, to win.
- Radiant Intelligence Crystal - Salfara's tears turned to stone. How many of these are there?
- Strength
- Strength Crystal - The might you once enjoyed is no more, but you might try gathering its fragments.
- Vibrant Strength Crystal - So great! So mighty! Your power should be enough for the whole world!
- Radiant Strength Crystal - Pour, blood of Ader, pour! Feed the ground, drop by drop!
Types of Crystals[]
There are 3 types of Crystals:
- (Normal) Crystals - Needed until clearing the 6th node of level 2.
- Vibrant Crystals - Needed until clearing the 2nd node of level 4.
- Radiant Crystals - Needed to clear the remaining nodes of levels 4 to 5.

Random Crystals and Random Insignia drop the related items:
- Random Crystal - May contain a hero's Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal
- Random Vibrant Crystal - May contain a hero's Vibrant Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal
- Random Radiant Crystal - May contain a hero's Radiant Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal
- Random Insignia - May contain a Mage, Marksman, Tank, Warrior, Support, Control or Healer Insignia
- Random Greater Insignia - May contain a Greater Mage, Marksman, Tank, Warrior, Support, Control or Healer Insignia
Chooseable Crystal and Insignia (1 per chest):
- Choice of Crystal - May contain a hero's Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal.
- Choice of Vibrant Crystal - May contain a hero's Vibrant Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal.
- Choice of Radiant Crystal - May contain a hero's Radiant Strength, Agility, or Intelligence Crystal.
- Choice of Insignia - May contain a Mage, Marksman, Tank, Warrior, Support, Control, or Healer Insignia.
- Choice of Greater Insignia - May contain a Greater Mage, Marksman, Tank, Warrior, Support, Control, or Healer Insignia.
Skill Upgrades[]
Several heroes have skill upgrades at the end of Ascension Ranks II and V. These skill upgrades do not require any Crystals and Insignia but cost 1 million Gold plus 2500 Star Mana for the Rank II upgrade and 10 million Gold plus 25.000 Star Mana for the Rank V upgrade, respectively. For heroes who have not received their skill upgrades yet, the first skill upgrade is not required to advance from Rank II to Rank III thus it can be acquired later on.
The following heroes already have their Ascension skill upgrades unlocked:
- Artemis* - Healing Smart Arrow (2nd) + Resurgent Deadly Shower (1st)
- Cleaver* - Toxic Putrefaction (2nd) + Massive Rusty Hook (1st)

- Heidi - Deadly Spy Camo (4th) + Suffocating Deathflower (1st)
- Ishmael - Elusive Phantom (2nd) + Brutal Awakening (1st)
- Judge - Overcharged Force Field (2nd) + Resonating Ion Cyclone (1st)
- Kai* - Lesser Explosive Sphere (3rd) + Detonating Fetters of the Wind (1st)
- Keira - Undying Enraged Soul (2nd) + Raging Blade Whirlwind (1st)
- Lilith - Mass Possession (4th) + Stunning Underworld Seal (1st)
- Nebula* - Absolute Serenity (2nd) + Astral Balance Projection (1st)
- Peppy - Spirit of Boldness (2nd) + Reckless Masquerade (1st)

- Heroes marked with an asterisk (*) had their skill upgrades ready when the "City of Asgard" was added to the game in early 2022 – the other Heroes' Ascension skills have been added later on.
- Skill upgrades listed first are the Rank II upgrades; skills listed second are the Rank V upgrades which usually upgrade the hero's actual 1st "white" skill.
